Edo2024:The Dialectics of Hypocrisy By Osazua IVBAZE For some time now, I have been watching some politicians who climb to mountain tops, roaringly and fiercely demanding fairness and justice in the distribution of political opportunities and openings, while coming back to their subnational level to make dramatic u-turn for self--serving purposes. For them, power shift/ zoning is needed at the national level to prevent the Northern Nigeria from using the  population weapon to  dominate political power. However, at State level, these same people bare their hypocritical fangs by excessively seeking to concentrate on  their own professed advantage in pursuit of the  actualization of what they abhor in national politics. They try to wrap up these contradictions and hypocrisy inherent in this unarguably selfish attitude in  sophistry. Attention! Attention!! Attention!!! I said it before that the so called car gift was a Greek gift and a scam, Mr Akpata brought Sienna vehicles to LABOUR PARTY secretariat saying he gifted them to the party in a bid to building the party. After presenting the vehicles, he took them back saying he needed to register them for the party. He REGISTERED the vehicles in the name of a company called ZOPAZ ADVISORY SERVICE, with an address in an apartment flat in 1004 Estate V.I Lagos, as against the name of Labour Party Edo State. ZOPAZ Advisory Service is owned by Olamide Anthony Akpata and Mr Adesola Joshua. Question No 2, amongst the document presented by Mr Akpata for each vehicle, he presented  photocopies of the  vehicles PROOF OF OWNERSHIP and held on to the original copy, Why give everyone the impression that you are gifting the vehicles in good faith in building the party when indeed you have ulterior motives just to sell yourself as wanting to build the party. LET US JOIN HANDS TO PROJECT EDO CENTRAL FOR GOVERNORSHIP 2024  Opportunity for Unity and Equality In a homogeneous state like Edo, justice, unity and equal representation across all districts ought to be a forgone conclusion. By continually excluding Edo Central from producing a governor, there is an inherent sense of marginalization and a missed opportunity to promote unity and harmony among Edo people. It is only wise and to ensure equal representation, that Edo Central be given the chance to lead the state. Edo Central's Talent Pool It is a fallacy to assume that Edo Central lacks qualified or capable and financial endowed individuals for the high office of the governor. The district not only boasts a rich pool of talented and successful businessmen and women but is also teeming with competent, visionary, wealthy and experienced individuals who can effectively govern Edo State. Edo Central is home to a diverse range of professionals, entrepreneurs, technocrats, and ...

Why Senate should not endorse use of firearms by FRSC  By JOSEPH IKPEA IGIAGBE  The Nigerian Senate has been urged to desist from arming and equipping members of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, with guns, arms and ammunitions. A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Edo State gubernatorial aspirant, Hon. (Dr.) Joseph Ikpea Igiagbe in a letter on Monday addressed to the President of The Nigeria Senate, HE Godswill Akpabio, called on the Federal Government and the Senate to halt the decision of the Government to give guns to the FRSC. The letter read: I write as a true Nigerian to make an appeal to our collective sense of national responsibility towards getting rid of official and illegal small weapons and light ammunition in our society. I particularly want to appeal to all the Distinguished Senators of the Federal Republic to treat this matter with the urgency that it deserves.  I will like to state that there is no contesting the...
