 Sebastian IYERE-OYEKPEN 


Sebastian is a Chartered Electrical Engineer (Power and Controls Consultant) with over 30 years of continuous career in the Oil and Gas industry

with Chevron, Total, and Shell Upstream E&Ps. His work sites/locations for these roles span from the UK (North Sea, Aberdeen, Farnborough), Switzerland, Sweden, Netherlands, Germany, France, Italy, Hungary, Belgium, Egypt, Gabon (Libreville, Gamba), Indonesia (Batam), Malaysia, Singapore, Kazakhstan (Atyrau, Tengiz), and so forth  to Lagos (Escravos, Port Harcourt and Lagos). At different times, he has been Electrical Technical Authority, Lead Electrical, Senior Electrical, (Lead) Project Engineer, (Lead) Commissioning Engineer for various stages of projects. These stages included conceptual studies, tender reviews, basic engineering (FEED), detailed engineering, FAT/SAT, construction, (pre)commissioning planning/execution, start-up, modifications, upgrades, maintenance and operations. Currently, his role is Power Operations Competency and Procedures Development Consultant.


Sebastian IYERE-OYEKPEN is from Iruekpen-Ekpoma, Edo State. He had his early education at Emaudo Primary and Secondary Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Lagos and Master of Science Degree in Embedded Digital Systems, with distinctions from the University of Sussex Engineer Sebastian has been trained across the globe in power systems, human resources, safety, leadership, and management roles. He is a registered professional with the prestigious UK Engineering Council and a member of the UK Institution of Engineering and Technology (CEng, MIET). 


Revd. Sebastian IYERE-OYEKPEN is of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Akoko Edo Diocese, Edo State. He is a published author/writer and a philanthropist. 

Revd Sebastian IYERE-OYEKPEN is the founder of a registered Nigerian charity organization (Pure Devotion Ministry – AKA Jamesone27) with presence and charity works across several locations in Nigeria. 


Revd. Engr. Sebastian IYERE-OYEKPEN speaks English, French, and Russian (beginner).

Now that we have Esan men as principal office holders in PDP, NNPP, APC, AND LABOUR PARTY,  I urge us to use our good office to influence the candidacy in favour of the Esan people. Let us play politics in the interest of Esan  {Edo Central Senatorial District} above personal interest and move Esan out of opposition and self-marginalization.   You and I know that Executive power is the answer to our ESAN Developmental AGENDA.
