EDO 2024: PETER OKOEGUALE -A SURGE OF HOPE FOR A BETTER EDO STATE.

EDO 2024: PETER OKOEGUALE -A SURGE OF HOPE FOR A BETTER EDO STATE.

Osagie Degbueyi

Edo state will once again go to the polls in 2024, to elect a candidate from the various  political parties in the gubernatorial race, one,  who will lead the state for a four year term.

It will not be business as usual.

If anything, the 2023 general elections proved beyond reasonable doubt that Nigerians have come of age politically. The electorates are no longer for hire but are ready to put the cart of  development ahead of their political and  personal ambition.

A SURGE OF HOPE

There have been a groundswell of surport and excitement by the  citizenry of Edo state,  over the gubernatorial ambition of Peter Okoeguele, who hails from   Esan North East Local Government Area of  Edo state,.

Okoeguele, a businessman and a philanthropist whose generosity cuts across all, without recourse to ethnicity, politics, religion or gender.

The clamor for Peter Okoeguele to throw in his hat into the 2024 governorship elections in Edo state is gaining traction and attracting youths  elderstates men and women, across the 18 local government areas of the state.

The electorates in  yearn for a paradigm shift, away from the same recycled political actors who having  played their part in governance  must now bow out gracefully, for a young, articulate visionary, with fresh and innovative ideas that will create employment opportunities, attract foreign investors, place  a modern facade over the face of the city and communities in Edo state, while preserving the culture and traditions of the ancient kingdom.

Peter Okoeguele perfectly fits into this cadre. He brings an air of redemption, a surge of hope for a better Edo state and a wind of positive vibes sweeping across the entire state.

"There is an art to governance, alien to those who have had the privilege of governing our dear state in the recent past. There have been a lack of true passion and  loyalty towards the welfare of the  people of Edo state. Political vendetta, power supremacy,  have been consistently placed above development  and the needs of the people of our dear state.

I I am 100 percent loyal to the needs of my people and the development of my state. I aim to  help the people of Edo see that, there is more to governance than what they have been made to accept as the standard to measure development."

Okoeguele said this while addressing a cross section of civil societies organizations, political groups, students based groups and Edo women in politics, who paid him a courtesy visit in his country home in Edo state.
